Every manuscript has different needs. Some writers have already spent years refining their work, while others are in the middle of the revision process and need a fresh set of eyes. I offer all of the services below. For those new to the world of editing, I have provided a brief overview of each. The order is crucial; editing starts high-level at the development stage, and zooms in to the final proofreading stage. I consider any project that comes my way, but know that I have the most knowledge in Literary Fiction, namely science fiction, fantasy, and general fiction. This would mainly apply to Developmental Editing.

Developmental editing looks at the overall structure of your narrative and seeks to streamline and orient what you are ultimately trying to say.

Line editing is as it sounds. It looks at sentence-to-sentence structure to smooth out every thought for clarity and remove redundancies. Every line deserves to shine, and line editing helps you get there.

Copyediting is the final step and involves checking the manuscript against the rules of the chosen style, typically the Chicago Manual of Style. It also includes general spelling and grammatical checks. This ensures a level of quality, consistency, and professionalism across your manuscript.

I can also proofread or act as a beta reader. One of my passions is studying narrative and what makes them work or not work. I love diving into new stories so please reach out if that suits you best.
